Exploring Parallels Like You’ve Never Seen Before With Harry Shum Jr.
Dance is such a personal and creative way to express yourself and all the while a greatly respected sport. The art of dancing can be tedious and intense, but yet beautiful and moving. It is often disguised in the many other activities and sports we take part in and it pulls inspiration from all different kinds of movement.
Red Bull in collaboration with Harry Shum Jr. and a handful of talented athletes and dancers have produced this series of videos that give others an innovative inside look of the similarities dance has to its sport counterparts. These videos uniquely depict the “parallels” of sport and dance by comparing seemingly different disciplines using themes such as movement, grace, rhythm, and control. Watch and enjoy as Harry narrates this unparalleled presentation of athletic art!
“Artistry and athleticism exists with each body’s movement. In this series of videos we explore the parallels between seemingly disparate forms of movement, whether the artfulness of a ballerina’s leaps with a motocross biker’s cliffhanger, a tricker’s acrobatics with Freeride riders’ turns or breakdancer’s controlled timing with a skateboarders’ trick.”
