The First Wearable Drone

The growing popularity of drones in recent years has inspired a ton of innovative ideas that incorporate these small planes into daily life. We were recently introduced to what may be the most ingenious use of a drone ever… Meet Nixie, it’s the first attempt at creating a wearable drone. The tiny plane has a camera and attaches to a foldable wrist band. With a simple gesture the drone can fly into the air to capture photos for you. The team behind Nixie won the grand prize for the Intel Make it Wearable Challenge, which came with a half a million dollars to develop their idea. While the Nixie is not yet available to the public, the founders are confident they can soon make it a commercial reality.
